Briney devastated by Michael's death


Britney sent the following statement to Larry King tonight:

"I was so excited to see his show in London," Spears said in a statement today. "We were going to be on tour in Europe at the same time and I was going to fly in to see him. He has been an inspiration throughout my entire life and I'm devastated he's gone."

The King of Pop has died


TMZ.com: We've just learned Michael Jackson has died. He was 50.

Michael suffered a cardiac arrest earlier this afternoon and paramedics were unable to revive him. We're told when paramedics arrived Jackson had no pulse and they never got a pulse back. Michael is survived by three children: Michael Joseph Jackson, Jr., Paris Michael Katherine Jackson and Prince "Blanket" Michael Jackson II.

Jackson had 13 number one hits during his solo career.

He was 50.

He collapsed at his residence in the Holmby Hills section of Los Angeles, California, about noon Pacific time, suffering cardiac arrest, according to brother Randy Jackson. He died at UCLA Medical Center.

One Call also opening for Britney


It seems like a 3rd opening act was added to The Circus Tour. After Ciara and Kristina DeBarge, One Call just confirmed on their MySpace that they'll be opening for Britney on her first 9 shows of the 2nd North American leg.

3 opening acts... It makes me wonder if maybe One Call will replace Kristina on the first shows. Ciara is confirmed to open for all shows. We'll see...

Los Angeles, CA - Britney Spears is bringing "The Circus Starring Britney Spears" back to North America with a little help from special guests, Kristinia DeBarge and Ciara. Both artists are set to open for Britney during her return to Canada and the U.S. beginning August 20th.

Britney remembers the late Ed McMahon


Us Magazine.com: Britney Spears is mourning the death of Ed McMahon, who died early Tuesday at age 86 after a battle with cancer.

"I am deeply saddened by today's news about Ed McMahon," Spears Tweeted Tuesday.

Spears' history with McMahon dates back to 1992 when, at the age of 10, she sang Naomi Judd's "Love Can Build a Bridge" on the McMahon-hosted show Star Search. (She won the first round but lost in the second.)

"He is responsible for giving so many artists their first shot, including myself," Spears said in her statement. "He was a wonderful man and will be greatly missed."

Ed passed away today after a long battle with cancer. Ed, who spent more than 30 years as Johnny Carson's co-host and sidekick on The Tonight Show, had been hospitalized at the UCLA Ronald Reagan Hospital in L.A. in recent months for pneumonia related to his systemic bone cancer.

In addition to his decades on the late-night NBC talk show, Ed had success on his own as the original host of Star Search and, along with fellow TV legend Dick Clark, TV Bloopers and Practical Jokes. He was also the long-time face of the Publishers' Clearing House Sweepstakes.
