Motivation:
Britney Spears
How
I found the name: I
saved my first page I made and named it Britney but I
forgot to take off the 'U' of the previous title of the
page which was 'unnamed' and I came up with UBritney.
Then it just came across my mind, it was all clear, and
I decided to call it Ultimate Britney Spears.
The story:
It all started in
2000 when I became a really huge Britney Spears fan. I
was totally amazed by the Oops!... I Did It Again album.
I immediately loved who that girl was and I just fell
for her, totally. During the summer of 2001, I decided
to make a Britney site. I started working with Geocities
(yeah, I’ve been there too) and I learned everything
by myself. I became good at graphics real fast even
though I wasn't using really professional programs at
the time. So the site came out on March 25, 2002. I'll
always remember how hard I worked before I could
actually launch the site. I got some really good
feedback from my visitors from the very opening. Many
said they had never seen a site with so much info and
such a new kind of graphics/layouts. I then got my first
affiliate, BritneyPeople.com, which was an awesome site
you guys probably remember. I was so proud and excited
to get that site as my first affiliate. This just kept
me working and working. I decided it was time to get a
.cjb.net address and UBritney kept growing and reaching
more fans. In May of the same year, I moved to my first
host, 330.ca, and I learned everything about FTP, Front
Page... I also started working with Paint Shop Pro and
PhotoShop for my graphics. Before the end of 2002, I got
my .com and in April of 2003, I moved to the FanCube.com
network. This was the host I always wanted. A few months
later, AllBritney.org organized the AB.org's ICON which
was a competition between all the Britney fansites.
UBritney made it to the final and took the 2nd place.
This was really exciting and I was amazed to see how
much support I had from the fans. Not long after,
BritneyAlbum.com, UBritney's gallery, opened and it soon
became one of the most complete and large Britney
galleries online. Then as time went by, the site
experienced a downtime of a week or 2 and I decided it
was time to change host and I moved to the Candy-Red.net
network. I didn't stay there for too long. The site
moved to the FireWired.com network and I absolutely
enjoyed the service they offer. And then the site moved
again, and again and it is now hosted by FanFilled.com
and I'm really happy with the service they offer.
Finally,
I'm so proud of what my site has become. I'm glad I
could make this dream of mine come true. I can now reach
many fans out there and it means a lot to me to share my
passion for Britney. I'd love to thank my awesome
family, which I love so much, for giving me the courage
I needed to keep up going with the site. Thanx to all of
you, the visitors, for making UBritney alive, with me.
Also, thanx to Britney who gives me all that energy and
who can make me feel such strong feelings by listening
to her music, watching her dance...
